The Ryley Motor Inn is only 200 metres from the heart of Wangaratta, and only 100 metres from the very picturesque Merriwa Park. Other attractions include King George gardens, river walks, Exhibition Gallery, Historic Museum, golf courses, grass & hardcourt tennis, rail trail and aquatic centre to name a few. Neighbouring the Ryley Motor Inn is the very popular Indian Tandoori restaurant and directly opposite Ryley Motor Inn is Marvilla's Bar & Restaurant offering the finest in Italian food. Both of these restaurants offer charge back facilities as do others in town. Wangaratta is in the heart of Victoria's North Eastern wineries, with Brown Brothers and the Milawa Gourmet Region less than 15 minutes away. The famous Rutherglen wineries are less than 45 minutes drive and the Alps and snowfields are less than 150km away. The Mountains to the Murray Bike Trail is Australia's premier rail trail which is a sealed bicycle path that commences in Wangaratta & takes route via the picturesque Ovens Valley below Mt.Buffalo 97kms to Bright with a 15km side link to historic Beechworth. Situated at the junction of the Ovens and King Rivers and less than two and a half hours drive from Melbourne, Wangaratta is the ideal destination to use as a base for touring NE Victoria.
Directions
Wangaratta is located approximately 250km North East of Melbourne along the Hume Freeway. The Ryley Motor Inn is stuated on the main road through town (Old Hume Highway) If you are traveling by car from Melbourne, take the first Wangaratta exit, go through 3 sets of traffic lights, about 100 meters past the third set of lights do a U turn, then a left turn into the service road, we are situated at the end of the service road. If your journey is bringing you from the north, take the first Wangaratta exit, then you need to go through a set of traffic lights in the middle of town, through the next roundabout, then left into the service road, we are situated at the end of the service road.
